of Meeting Someone New

Cut
Through the Small Talk!
If
you're like a lot of men, the first three things you want
when you're looking to meet someone are...
-
An
introduction -- naturally, the more men you
meet the better your chance of meeting the men
who are right for you;
-
A
way to find the common ground you share with
the men to whom you're introduced -- you want
to get to know them and you want them to
get to know
you;
-
The
ability to smoothly and politely disengage from
an interaction when you're ready, with no
hurt feelings
on either side.
Maybe you've found that other ways of meeting men -- bars, parties, dancing,
personal ads, and the Internet just don't seem to work all that well. Or
maybe you'd just like to broaden your search for new friends and romantic
partners. You may be tired of trying to make conversation about "the
band," "the
food,"
and the weather. Perhaps you're bored with superficial chit-chat. Are you
ready
to meet some new people on a more meaningful level? You're not
alone!
Now
there are new, better ways to meet men! Our events provide
fun, casual, and informative first meetings between gay and
bisexual men, taking into account these 3 goals:
-
You
get to meet a lot of men in a short amount of
time;
-
You
get to know them in a brief, but meaningful way
-- and they get to know you, too;
-
There
aren't any awkward beginnings or endings to the
interactions.
And you're
going to have a good time!
We
sponsor three different events -- The Meeting Game
Salon,
5-Minute Dating, and Dinner Date! We have events monthly
at a variety of Bay Area locations. We've been providing
events for gay men since 1999. Here's
a brief description of each of our programs:
The Meeting Game
®
Salon
Meet 50 to 100 men, a few at a time, at an evening of short, structured,
thought-provoking, group conversations and ice-breakers. Find out what they
like to do for fun, what their values are, and what they're doing with their
lives. You'll have the opportunity to get to know them, and for them to get
to know you, too.
We divide everyone up by interests and hobbies, then sit
down in groups of six for a 10-minute conversation on a topic such as, "Who's
been your greatest role model?" or "If you were to invite someone
from history
to dinner, who would it be, and why?" or "What are the advantages
and disadvantages
of being the pursued versus the pursuer?" Then we rotate and have a different
conversation with a different group of people.
One of the best things about
The Meeting Game Salons is that they're fun! Placing the focus on
conversation
and other ice-breakers puts meeting someone in its proper perspective -- a
bonus to be savored at the end of an enjoyable evening! Regular admission is
$20 in advance, or $25 day of the event, on a space-available
basis.
5-Minute
Dating™
If a friend invited you to a party where you could meet a roomful of men, and
promised s/he'd tell you afterwards which of them were interested
in you, would
you
go?
In one night, you'll have
the opportunity to enjoy short, individual, conversations with as many men
as you can "date" in one night! Then, confidentially select those
you'd
like
to
see
again, and be notified of those
who feel the
same way about
you! You'll receive contact information for all of your matches the following
week. Regular
admission is $25 in advance, or $30 day of the event. One participant called
it, "A shorthand version
of a year's worth of dates!"™
Dinner
Date!™
Join us for dinner at a table (or two) of 10 to 20 men, at one of the Bay
Area's great restaurants.
Includes ice-breakers, periodic seat rotation, separate checks, and all the
new friends you can make in one evening! Exchange phone numbers or send us
an email to forward to those in whom you're interested, following the event.
By advance reservation: $15 + dinner via online registration or $20 + dinner
via phone reservation. On various nights at a variety of
restaurants, Bay-area
wide. "Sitting down to dinner together warms people
nicely."
Make sure to add your name to our notification list and we'll
keep you posted about events in your area!
